If you become complacent,
you WILL fail.
you WILL fail.
Have you seen the latest Honda commercial? It's currently one of my favorites. I don't like it because of cars, or Honda, or for any reason you may think.
I like it because it screams, "Don't give up!"
Think about it. Do olympians who win medals quit when the going gets tough? Have you ever known a complacent person who's mediocrity allowed them to win any award or achieve any accomplishment? Then why do we quit when things get hard, or worse, let our kids quit when things get hard?
I'm not just talking about music lessons here. I'm talking about life. When the going gets tough, we NEED to push through. When it's tough and therefore we start to like it less, we NEED to push through. What if you quit a relationship every time you had a disagreement? What if you never tried food outside of pizza and french fries because one time you ate a brussel sprout and it was icky? Oh the good things you'll miss when you don't push through!
The greatest musicians, athletes, companies, and leaders become great because of their hard work, commitment, and diligence.
I'm not telling you to work until you die. I'm not telling you to continue doing something you really don't like! There's a time and season for everything.
I am telling you to give things a chance.
When the going gets tough, push through. Or, if you've been putting something you want to try on the backburner, try it now! We can do more than we give ourselves credit for. Let's see where we can go!
